DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION VIDEO

BACKGROUND

The Deans of The Graduate School attended a conference and discovered there was social media campaign becoming viral within higher education across the United States called #YouAreWelcomeHere (#YAWH). The campaign was a statement to international students saying that their university and communities are diverse and inclusive. Everyone is welcome. You are welcome here. Our Deans wanted Augusta University to join the campaign and produce a video for students by students.

OBJECTIVE

Produce a video highlighting the diversity and inclusivity of Augusta University’s Graduate Community.

PROCESS

Inspiration for the #YAWH video was formed from observing the videos of other universities participating in the campaign. This gave us our original framework for the video. Through a collaborative and iterative process with the students from The Graduate Student Council, a storyboard was produced to tell the unique story of Augusta University.
